Dreams, Time, Speed, Universe…. Interconnected?

Dreams, time, speed, universe, can it really be interconnected?  We come across dreams where something makes us feel that we have been in this situation before. Déjà vu as we call it.

What is déjà vu? Can we really see our future? Can we actually predict what will happen in our life before it has taken place?

I read an article which left me terrified, as a teenager a guy, in a dream he looked down on his mother, apparently dead inside a coffin. A week later, he saw the scene tragically enacted in waking life when the family was out tobogganing in the Rocky Mountains. His mother’s sled shot off over a precipice and when he got to the foot of the slope the dreamer found himself looking down at her as she lay, with her back broken, inside the coffin-like box.

Dreams of this kind can seem like a curse, when we feel unable to do anything to change an unhappy outcome we have dreamt. But if we pay attention to our dreams, we’ll soon notice that our dreams of the future don’t only involve death and disaster. Our dream radar scans events large and small, happy and sad, which come into our field of experience.

Some indigenous people maintain that we dream everything that will manifest in physical life before it happens & I think this is correct.

If we consider this as a reality that we really do go through our future in our dreams then the real question comes as to how can our brain access that part of our future.

In the recently released movie Interstellar, the director Christopher Nolan has shown the existence of a Parallel Universe in our Universe where the main lead gets into something known as the 5^th dimensional world. A place where he could access his whole life, even those parts that have already taken place and tried to warn his relative past about his future which is the present for him.

The world that we know today, that is around us, exists in 3 dimensions, the X axis Y axis & Z axis (which we have learnt in mathematics during our school days). That means we can travel in 3 planes the X-Y, Y-Z, X-Z.

Let us consider the motion of plane. When the plane is moving on a runway, it is moving in an X-Y plane. When the plane takes off, it switches its motion from X-Y plane to X-Y-Z plane which is the 3- dimensional position of the plane. The word 3D that we use means 3-Dimensional and hence the effect that we see is like real life as we see the real world.

In the movie it was shown that the actor was able to access the 5^th dimension where he could access his past, and this dimension is outside the existence of our 3D world inside the black hole.

The person inside the black hole for him that moment is the present and the person he is seeing inside the black hole is his past. But when he was in his present, his future was communicating with him in the same manner, whom they term as the Ghost. The time relativity in this situation is nothing but Albert Einstein’s Theory of relativity. Where the mathematical variables Time and Speed in the whole universe is actually said in relative to the objects present in the universe.

When we talk about speed being relative to each other, it means that when we are in a car that shows a speed of 80Km/hr, that means the speed of that car is 80Km/hr with respect to the Earth and with respect to the car the earth is static, that means not moving at all. But the Earth is rotating in its own axis with a certain speed and then revolving around the sun having its own angular velocity with respect to the static Sun. So if we calculate the speed of the car with respect to the Sun, the speed of the car will add up. And it will not remain 80Km/Hr with respect to the Sun.

And in the similar manner our own solar system is moving with a certain velocity in the universe. So if we have to calculate the speed of the car with respect to a Star which is moving with a certain speed towards our solar system then the speed of the car with respect to the Star will again be different. In our universe we do not have a fixed speed of a particular body. The speed of all the objects that exist in the universe is all in relative to the speed and position of each other.

In the similar manner when the speed of all the bodies moving in the universe is relative, Time is also relative, which again was shown in the movie where an hour in one planet was equivalent to Earth’s 7 Years. Hence our present is our present for us, but for our past, their present is a present for them.

It is something like when you are looking at a Star which is at a 1000 light years distance, you are actually looking at the Star that existed 1000 years

The distance of a star is calculated in terms of “Light years”

The speed of light in any medium (includes vacuum) is 3,00,000 Kilometers / second.

1 light year is a distance which is equal to – when a ray of light travels with the actual speed of light and travels continuously for 1 year, the distance covered by that Ray of light in 1 year is equal to 1 Light year. The stars that we see in sky is actually the way it existed some 1,000 ..10,000 years before. Usually a star’s distance for the Earth varies from 100 to 50,000 light years.

The closest star that we have is our Sun. The next closest star that we have is “Proxima Centauri” which is at a distance of 4.25 Light years from Earth. Our universe is so vast that we had to create a measurement unit so long that it would be able to represent that distance.

If we have to calculate the distance 1 light year in terms of how many kilometers it is, then it would be equal to- Speed of light in Km/Second  X  the number of seconds in one year. Which would be equal to – (3, 00, 000 X 365 X 24 X 60 X 60) Kilometers.

So if we realize, the 1 kilometer distance which is a big distance for we Human beings cannot be even put to scale on a piece of paper when we try to draw just our milky way galaxy which is having a diameter of about 1, 00, 000 Light years.

The parallel universe that we have in our theory suggests that our life is nothing but a collection of 3 Dimensional figures moving across time. Something very similar in the 2 Dimensional world to our colored screen, in which we see any visuals such as videos. Videos are nothing but a collection of pictures played together and due to ‘persistence of vision’ we are not able to see that those are nothing but the pictures that are being flipped in the video. The more the pictures per second the better the video will be.

The smartphones that we use today they record videos at a speed of 25 pictures/ second. And I am sure it won’t take us many years to reach 2500 pictures/second to make the video look livelier. And our whole universe is a surely a creation of a highly superior energy/power which in terms of intelligence or something that we know as the subconscious mind would be a lot more superior than us than we could ever imagine.

Our whole universe or our life is nothing but a collection of moments which we could access if we enter into the 5th dimension through the Black Hole. This is what was shown in the movie the Interstellar.

In the movie the Lead Actor was able to communicate with his past by entering into a 5th dimension by getting inside the Black Hole and could guide his daughter to solve the equation of Time which helped him save the planet. This can be understood if seen the movie.

According to today’s knowledge that we have about our universe all this exists only in theory. As we have not been able to get inside the Black Hole and do not know what is exactly inside it. We just have been able to predict it. Stephen Hawking has been able to give a good insight about the Black Hole and its relation with time and light.

But what if this is actually true and if the parallel universe exists, the things that we feel that we have seen that situation in our dreams or an intuition that we get that this is going to happen is nothing but a glimpse of about future, that our brains access from the parallel universe. But we do not know how it happens or if it actually happens. But many people have claimed this happening to them quite often.

And this usually happens when one is in deep sleep or ends up falling asleep while having a deep thought. One ends up having an image in their dreams of them being in a situation and tend to face that situation in reality. Does it really happen or is it just the brain playing tricks with you.

Because according to the knowledge of science that we have today, it is nothing but a brain’s trick, but if we get deeper into our universe and the anomaly of the universe and believe that a parallel universe exists, we can realize that we actually access a small part of our future in our dreams and then relive it. But how does this happen it will take us a long time to find out. And if we figure this out we will be able to solve the mystery of the universe.

And by the way, Time is relative in dreams too. When you wake up from a dream at times one feels that they have slept for a really long time which does not turn out to be true. This is because we tend to make things happen faster in our dream world. So the same thing happening in the real world might take a day, where as we might end up dreaming the whole thing in a few hours.The time relativity in dreams, isn’t it thought provoking.

Through the eyes of a Robot

My first blog…. Through the eyes of a robot. The 3 laws of Asimov

1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

The first law, never allow a human being to come to harm. Does not this rule out the use of robots for the Defense sector (until n unless our government thinks we might be attacked by aliens some day). A robot has a vision just like we human beings. It sees the things through sensors known as camera, it hears the things through the sensors known as microphone, it can feel things through touch sensors, it can even smell gases & can even find out the taste of any object by finding the chemical compound in the material. And it thinks through a similar manner as that of us through a system known as our brain for a robot which is the micro-controller. The basics used to control a robot. A robot has many parts, but the main parts required for a robot to make a decision are its sensors which act similarly as that of the 5 senses in a human being. The decision that our brain takes for the whole body is mainly based on the response of our 5 sense organs which is similar as that of in a robot. The difference comes here that a robot does not have a sub conscious mind as that of a human being. The sub conscious mind which helps us make a decision through something known as intelligence. A human being is not programmed and the decisions of a human being do not depend in a fixed manner. A humans decision changes on the basis of a situation. It can be argued that a decision of a robot also changes on the basis of a situation. But the difference that will be created in a situation when the decision to be taken is not mentioned in the rewritten program of the robot it will not take a decision out of the set of commands or programs.

But in case of a human being, a human being analyses a situation and tries to do it in the best possible manner it can. It can even figure out ways in which he/she must not have ever done it. But due to the subconscious a human brain is capable of making decisions not been ever done before. For a robot this case will never arrive. For example it was recently tested “In an experiment, Winfield and his colleagues programmed a robot to prevent other automatons – acting as proxies for humans – from falling into a hole. This is a simplified version of Isaac Asimov’s fictional First Law of Robotics – a robot must not allow a human being to come to harm” At first, the robot was successful in its task. As a human proxy moved towards the hole, the robot rushed in to push it out of the path of danger. But when the team added a second human proxy rolling toward the hole at the same time, the robot was forced to choose. Sometimes, it managed to save one human while letting the other perish, a few times it even managed to save both. But in 14 out of 33 trials, the robot wasted so much time fretting over its decision that both humans fell into the hole. If a human was in place, he/she would have saved both the humans simultaneously.

The very few times the robot managed to save both the humans would always be less than that of what a human would be capable of doing. A robot can only be given a set of commands as to how to save the human. Now whether it has to save a single human being or 2, if this information is not fed inside the Processor of the robot it will disobey the first law of robots. As it is letting a human come in harm when saving the other. So if the information is not fed in, it will not be in accordance with the first law. The robot can think using its predefined set of functions and commands. It does not have the capability to outperform its command, until and unless something known as artificial intelligence is fed inside robot. This would mean that a robot would learn from its performing of its mistakes while it disobeys the first law. This kind of a robot can be made when one sets up a learning system in a robot, where the robot would learn and store the data whenever it would make a mistake (again the mistakes have to be predefined by the human or the programmer) if the set is not defined in the mistakes, and even if the robot is making a mistake it will keep following its fed in command. Hence in the end it is like even if we are able to make a self learning robot, it is again learning using the set of commands we have fed inside its system. It will never learn things out of the box of the commands even after we have fed in a self learning system. The self learning will always be according to the set of programs for which the robot will store in the data for analysis. The analysis of the situation will always be in terms of the rules set for the robot. So we are not making a self learning robot. We are making a robot with a fixed set of probables out of which the robot has to choose the option depending upon the combination we would give to the robot to choose from, from the set of commands to perform.

A human being is not such, it learns and adds data to its memory beyond the set of commands. If we are able to get this done inside the robot, that day we will mark the start of The end of the human civilization. If robots develop a self learning capability as that of a human, even after the 3 laws of robot being fed in, it will harm the humans. An excerpt of this has been shown in the movie “iRobot” . Where the robots even after following the 3 laws are able to harm the humans. And if things go worse they will be nothing less than an alien species which are a lot superior to us and with a lot of power. Which is again a threat to the human civilization. Because any superior civilization wants it’s safety from the species below it. For example- every human wants to be protected from animals, where animals being the inferior species. We even kill the animals for our safety and our daily use as food and other daily usage items. We might just end up being in the same situation as that of the animals.

So a robot should never attain the sub conscious mind a human being has, that is again only if we want our human race to live longer. With the anomaly of the universe it is being even said that the earth is nothing but a set of programs controlled by a highly intelligent biological computer. If this is true then even we end up becoming nothing but a set of programs performing a set of functions, and the better decision that we take due to our subconscious mind may not actually be a subconscious mind, but actually a set of program fed inside our biological processor which is nothing but the brain. Somewhere this appears to be seem at a very big level, but if we bring it to a micro level, we are actually in a situation of a technology where we are seeing something like happen, or lets say we humans ourselves have created this kind of a situation in games such as Grand Theft Auto (GTA Series) ..Warcraft … Counterstrike series.. or any game that has computer player playing in it.

The theme of some games are actually so similar to our real life. For example games like the GTA Series. Seems like a small place only with people around. I am sure people who have played the game will be able to relate to this. Something like the people inside the game being us. The processor that is controlling the game is nothing but the big super biological computer that we referred to it as the system controlling us whom we call our God, the creator and the controller, might nothing be but a super biological computer.

If this anomaly turns out to be true, we can say that as Neil Bohr said, ‘If we are made up of atoms, then a scientist studying atoms is nothing but a group of atoms studying itself’.
